Ship construction question

Postby Inari7 » Thu Sep 18, 2014 1:13 pm

Why is the Battery Cost more expensive to have a one weapon with the double damage trait then to have two weapons that do one damage each?

Thanks.......Doug

If all factors are the same, two batteries without double damage should cost the same as one with it.
Have you found a glitch somewhere?

On the Excell sheet two weapons at range 10 has a battery cost of 45
One weapon at range 10 has a battery cost of 30
One weapon at range 10 with the double damage trait has a battery cost of 60

Not sure if the math is correct on the Excel sheet.
The sheet I am using is Starmada Fleet ops 20120809_2.xls I am using Open office.

What do you think?

See what you mean but it was determined that half of one attack die would still be one when calculating the number of attack dice for a crippled ship (so you get the 2 x 15 =30).
I think you may, in part be confusing number of weapons and number of attack dice.
In Admiralty you show how many weapons are in each battery but in SFO each Attack Die may represent several weak weapons or a single more powerful one.
All a question of scale really.
A single Attack Die has a higher cost because you do not loose it when the ship is crippled.
