And heres the lightest combat unit of the LN, the TaLerDor. Its designed for just one purpose--to slam into the flanks of an enemy. Its fast and its deadly. I had to rip the hyperdrive out of the ship in order to give adequate weaponry, but seeing as the TaLerDor would either be alongside a TaLerKor or be with a scout cruiser, both with hyperdrives, it wouldn't matter.

A good 'pick-up and play' fleet might be one TaLerKor and two TaLerDors (2019 CR), which would give you a great force.

challenge accepted. This weekend I'll fly one TaLerKor and 2x TaLerDor vs. 4x Sniper class from above. I'll fly your ship designs and let my opponent fly my ship designs. I'll send you a write-up. any suggestions on tactics?

With four Sniper-class vessels, the main battle is going to be drones and battlesats vs ships. So I'd guess the main approach would be to try and ride out the attack (maybe try and get hits on the approaching drone swarm), and go after the battlesats. The Snipers themselves are a lost cause--all they have to do is just launch and get the hell out, so the main weaponry of the Loramian vessels--the rail cannons--are going to be lost.

Maybe force the Snipers to start within range? :p

Well, I've got myself a battle for Sunday, with these two behemoths.

Nominally, these two ships aren't finalised designs, but I wanted to fight a Starmada game and these two races seem like the perfect opponents (as they are like a Centauri-Narn thing) in a VBAM campaign I am just starting to do.

The Pyramidalia is designed to work in pairs and deliver a whole maintenance group of attack boats into the fray. The Kitells aren't that potent, but they offer a good defence against fighters and a respectable threat to light or heavy ships, and with six of them and two Pyramidalias in the fray you're going to need some powerful ships to take them down.

Oh, and if you want to blame anyone for this design, Im not naming any names *cough*Tyrel Lohr*cough* :D

A new design from the United Earth Alliance shipyards. This design is an advanced warship which is supposed to be capable of achieving a variety of roles.

An interesting feature, weapons which probably aren't very useful and are included mainly to use up some space and introduce the old practice of saluting another nation's ship, is included

Essentially, a Yggdrasil is designed to pound an enemy to shreds with its 'useful' weaponry while capable of taking a pounding herself. Marines enable her to take enemy ships or board suspected pirates, while the security teams can protect her in the same way. The salute cannons are essentially both useful for warning shots across an enemy's bow, and for saluting purposes.

The Hradusians are a race that, while presenting a united front to any aliens, continue to bicker constantly amongst themselves. Several Hradusian 'noble' houses are present, and the number of lesser houses is in constant flux. The Hradusian Imperial house is also a target, and it is not unknown for Hradusian noble houses to topple an Imperial house by force. Thus the Hradusian Imperial house designed a warship that would be capable of putting out low-key conflicts single-handed, as well as handing the Imperial house the best warship in the Feudal Territories.

The Hradak Imperal is armed with a selection of weapons capable of either pounding the enemy from long-range with accurate 'Longbow' fire or using its 'Trebuchets' to literally melt its way through an opponents hull. The anti-fighter armament of nine triple 'Slingshot' cannons is adequate for the job, but the Hradak Imperal typically relies on its 72 heavy fighters to do the job. It also has assault capabilities to land marines onto a planetary surface and boarding pods to take a ship directly in combat. As well as being capable of independent cruising, the Hradusian Imperial house also constructs fleets around one or two of these mammoth vessels for fast response roles. In short, the Hradak Imperal is the cream of the crop

As a direct response to the Hradak Imperal, the Arcadian Royal Kingdom commissioned a new design that would be capable of taking on a superdreadnought. The Arcadians already had a respectable vessel of that class, but other than that the only heavy design was a patrol cruiser, and the Arcadians needed a strike cruiser that could take on a Hradak Imperal.

The Arcada'Yetak'Luharj (literally, "Defender of the Arcadian Realm") was that design. Its not faster than a Hradak Imperal, but it mounts several powerful weapons including the plasma torpedo, a weapon designed to eat away at the Hradak Imperal slowly but surely...
