Brief AAR - The Fate of Germany

In honour of Jutland, I ran a GF3 WW1 game last night, being the pre-Jutland 'Fate of Germany' scenario in the K&K supplement. (Alas still too many ships in dry dock to run Jutland...yet!) The Royal Navy operated in three squadrons: 1. 3 x KGV BBs 2. 3 x Orion BBs 3. Four BCs: 2 x Lion, 1 x Quee...

Re: GF3 Critical hits

Hi, I have a couple of questions regarding damage & criticals that came up during a game the other night. Using the Alternative Damage resolution system as per the new supplements, how does one account for torpedo damage? I stuck a ship with one torpedo resulting in a loss of enough hull boxes t...

Re: A question about crossing the T

Let me clarify my line of thought.... Completely agree the principle of over-penetration equating to large calibre shells not exploding when passing though no/low armour. I meant more likely to hit at a shallow angle in relation to the target centreline, rather than more likey 'to hit' per se. Such ...

Re: A question about crossing the T

My thought would be to only use the over-penetration rule when not crossing the T.
When crossing the T a shell is likely hit at an acute angle & therefore travel further through the hull or superstructure, thus more likely to cause damage?

Re: Second game of GF3 complete!

Hi Chaps, I ran the Falklands scenario last night, myself as the RN. A minor victory for the Germans, who managed to nearly cripple Invincible and then head over the horizon. They did lose the Scharnhorst and one of their CLs whilst making their escape. I couldn't close quick enough, as steering tow...

Re: Upcoming products

Nah, I'm real patient..
It just happens that most of my ships are Russo-Japanese pre-dreadnought.
However, I do plan to run Jutland next year .. tick... tock.. ;-)
The Figurehead 1/6000 British Fleet Pack is top of the lead mountain....

Cheers!
